How does M-Pesa STK Push work in SawaPOS?

At checkout, the cashier enters the customer's phone number and clicks 'M-Pesa'. The customer receives an STK Push popup on their phone, enters their PIN, and the payment is auto-confirmed in SawaPOS within seconds — no manual entry needed.

Can I use my existing Till Number?

Yes. You can plug in your existing Safaricom Till Number, Paybill, or Kopokopo credentials. SawaPOS will detect every payment that lands in your account and match it to a sale.

What if a customer pays the wrong amount?

SawaPOS shows mismatched payments in red and lets your cashier approve or reject. You can also issue refunds, store credit, or partial cash change.

Can I track products with variants (size, colour)?

Yes. Each product can have unlimited variants with their own SKU, barcode, stock and price — perfect for fashion boutiques, electronics shops and shoe stores.

Can I sell by weight or portion (e.g. bar drinks, butchery)?

How do I do stocktaking?

Open the Stock History page, click 'New Stocktake', count your shelves and enter the actual quantities. SawaPOS calculates variances and lets you commit adjustments with a single click.

A cashier opens a shift with an opening float (cash drawer amount), processes sales, and closes the shift by declaring closing cash. SawaPOS automatically calculates variances against expected cash, M-Pesa and card totals.

Can I track staff commissions?

Yes. Set commission rates per category or per attendant, and SawaPOS calculates monthly payouts automatically.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. The subscription is the only cost. M-Pesa transaction fees are charged by Safaricom directly — SawaPOS does not take a cut of your sales.
